Brig Oscar Kizito Muleyi has served in a variety of postings in his 29 year’s career in the Kenya Defence Forces. These include Command, Staff and Training. He served in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission (MONUC) in the DRC Congo in 2005/6. He is a graduate of the Joint Command and Staff Colleges Kenya and Rwanda. He is an Alumni of the National Defence College - Tanzania
He served as a Directing Staff (Lecturer) at the Defence Staff College currently the Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC) between 2012 and 2015. Other appointments include; Commandant Defence Forces Technical College, Col Equipment and later on Chief of Systems at HQ KAF. He also served as the Chief of Systems at Defence Headquarters’ his last appointment before joining the National Defence University - Kenya was as the Head of Logistics and Maintenance at the National Air Support Department (NASD).
His academic credentials include; Bsc in Mechanical Engineering - UoN, PGD in Security and Strategic Studies - UoN, Masters of Business Administration - Moi, MA Security Studies - National University of Rwanda and MA in Security and Strategic Studies- University of Dar es Salaam.
Brigadier Muleyi is currently the Director, Center for Security and Strategic Studies, National Defence University-Kenya. He is a passionate golfer and his interests include jogging and reading.
