Defence Intelligence Academy
DIA was established in 1983 as the original Military Intelligence School at the Department of Defence (now Ministry of Defence) under DOD Establishment Serial No. DOD 8A. The current establishment is serial No. DOD 5 of May PER 05.
The College programs aim at providing highly skilled and competent resourceful medical practitioners who will provide health care in dynamic and challenging security environment. The graduates are empowered to approach health issues with a holistic global perspective and critically analyze problems with a view to provide preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative healthcare services to the military personnel and allied partners.
DIA Objectives
The main objective of the Defence Intelligence Academy is to train and produce Officers and Service Members of the Defence Forces who are capable to effectively meet Commanders’ Intelligence requirements at strategic, operational and tactical levels in a timely manner. To achieve the stated mission, DIA provides:
v Understanding of diversified military intelligence operations as they relate to MOD training and operational activity,
v Analytical approach to any intelligence situation having direct or indirect impact on the military,
v An awareness to Defence Attaches and their staff on identification of hostile intelligence agencies directed to them and the MOD, techniques of countering them and procedure for keeping the MOD informed of the developments,
v An awareness of security responsibilities to be applied for the betterment of the Kenya Defence Forces,
v Flexibility to tackle any other tasks as may be directed by superior authority/higher HQs.
