NDU-K CONVENES 16TH UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT BOARD
The Vice-Chancellor, National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K), Lieutenant General David Tarus, has urged the University Management Board (UMB) to consistently uphold financial regulations, Performance Contracting guidelines, and other operational policies, stressing their importance in achieving the University’s goals.
Chairing the 16th UMB meeting at the Seat in Lanet, Nakuru County, Lt Gen Tarus encouraged members to embrace innovation and emerging technologies to deliver practical solutions, foster excellence, and advance national security and development.
Highlighting the role of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in efficient, cost-effective service delivery, he noted that Phase One of NDU-K’s ICT infrastructure is complete, with Phase Two now underway.
The VC also emphasized the value of partnerships with government agencies and other institutions, saying such collaborations enhance insights, mobilize resources, and drive academic and research growth.
Reaffirming NDU-K’s commitment to advanced training, research, and knowledge exchange, he stressed the University’s role in addressing evolving security challenges and supporting national development.
The meeting brought together Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Commandants, Principals, Heads of Programmes from the seven NDU-K Colleges, the Registrar Academic Affairs, and various Directors and Heads of Departments.
