NDU-K PARTICIPATES IN SIGNING OF PERFORMANCE CONTRACT

NDU-K participates in signing of performance contract

National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K) today participated in the signing of Performance Contracts (PC) between the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and various Semi-Autonomous State Agencies (SAGAs) domiciled in the Ministry. NDU-K was represented by Chair of the Council, the Chief of the Defence Forces, Gen Francis Ogolla, Vice-Chancellor, Maj Gen Said Farah and Dr Mumma-Martinon, a Council member.

The event, which took place at Defence Headquarters, was led by Defence Cabinet Secretary (CS) Hon. Aden Duale.

In his remarks during the event, the CS noted that the Performance Contract is a robust tool employed by the government for measuring the performance of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in their service delivery to the Kenyan public.

He emphasized that MoD is committed to ensure that the stewardship of public authority and resources will be responsible, transparent and accountable as the ministry executes its mandate. He added that MOD performance should be robust, progress measurable and delivery effective.

He reiterated, “The State Corporations at MoD are key enablers towards the realization of the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) which has been aligned to the Fourth pillar of the Medium-Term Plan of the Vision 2030.”

Other SAGAs that participated in the signing of the PC include the Kenya Ordnance Factories Corporation (KOFC), Kenya Space Agency (KSA), and Kenya Shipyards Limited (KSL).

Also present to witness the signing in ceremony included the Principal Secretary, Mr. Patrick Mariru, Director of the Defence National Security Industries Major General Bernard Waliaula, Managing Director Kenya Ordnance Factories Corporation, Major General Dennis Kamuri, Director  Strategy, Policy and Planning Mr. Kennedy Okondo, among others.
