Major General (Rtd) Patrick A Amogola is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor National Defence University-Kenya was commissioned as a second Lieutenant in 1981 posted to the 50 Air Cavalry Battalion as a helicopter pilot and thereafter joined the Signals Corps in 1985.
During his career spanning over 42 years, he has served in Command, Staff, and Training, United Nations Peacekeeping and Diplomatic appointments at various levels. Some of the highlights of his service include serving as Staff Officer One Personnel Defence Headquarters, Military Observer United Nations Mission in Western Sahara, Defence Attaché in India, Colonel CMO OOTW, Signals Officer and adjutant in Officers Cadet School, Commander Signals Battalion, Commandant Defence Forces Memorial Hospital (DFMH) and General Officer Commanding Border Security Command.
Maj Gen (Rtd) Amogola has attended different courses in Kenya and abroad. He is a graduate of the Defence Staff College and National Defence College-Kenya. He has attended diverse local and overseas courses related to leadership, command and management, which include signal officers and Senior Defence Management courses in India and Pakistan among others. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in International Studies and a Diploma in Human Resource Management both from the University of Nairobi, Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from European Business School, a Bachelor’s degree in Social Transformation from Tangaza University College and currently finishing his Masters in Social Transformation at the same university college.
Some of the decorations conferred to him include the prestigious Elder of the Burning Spear (CBS) First Class and other seven commemorative and achievement medals in various categories.
He is married and blessed with three adult Children.
