DELEGATION FROM THE MMUST VISITS NDU-K
National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K) recently hosted a delegation from Masinde Muliro University of Science & Technology (MMUST).
The delegation led by Dean of School of Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance Dr. Ferdinand Makhanu, was seeking areas of possible collaboration and partnership with NDU-K.
The visits provided the two institutions a forum to learn first-hand lessons and experiences that have steered each to effectively achieve its mandate.
In his address to the delegation, Vice-Chancellor Maj General Farah, observed that NDU-K Colleges have created robust structures and capacity building initiatives to establish a critical mass of human capital to superintend the governance and management processes of the institutions. He emphasized that NDU-K intends to work closely with MMUST and other key stakeholders in the education ecosystem to ensure high academic standards for national, regional and worldwide good.
On his part, Dr. Makhanu appreciated the University management for hosting his delegation and for insights on possible areas of cooperation.
Possible areas of collaboration and partnership discussed included curriculum validation and review, exchange/mentorship of staff, visiting lecturers in specific areas, participation in academic seminars and workshops, joint publications and joint research in areas of mutual interest
Arising from the meeting, the two institutions will work on establishing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which will seek to stimulate cooperation for promoting development in Kenya, strengthen teaching and research, and provide services to the community.
