NATIONAL DEFENCE UNIVERSITY–KENYA (NDU–K) EXCELS AT 2025 NAIROBI INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR
The National Defence University–Kenya (NDU–K) has excelled at the ongoing 2025 Nairobi International Trade Fair (NITF) held at Jamhuri Park, Nairobi. The University outshone other institutions of higher learning, emerging Best Stand in Research and Development and Second Best Overall University Stand.
Defence Forces Technical College (DEFTEC), a constituent college of NDU–K, was recognized as the Best Tertiary Level Education Institution Stand other than University, further cementing NDU–K’s position as a leader in defence and security education.
Additionally, NDU–K clinched the Second Best Stand that Interprets the Current Show Theme (Education and/or Research). These four prestigious awards were earned amid stiff competition from hundreds of organizations participating in the annual fair, which provides a platform for government agencies and private companies to showcase their products and services to the public.
His Excellency Dr. William Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, and Chancellor of NDU–K, visited the NDU–K Stand accompanied by the Chief of Defence Forces, General Charles Kahariri, Service Commanders, and other senior officers. He commended the staff for their exemplary efforts in ensuring the University’s outstanding performance and urged them to continue empowering defence and security professionals through world-class education and training.
This year’s Trade Fair, themed “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth,” has attracted more than 400 exhibitors drawn from various sectors including agriculture, government institutions, private sector, small and medium enterprises, banking, and education.
The 2025 Nairobi International Trade Fair concludes on Sunday, 5 October 2025.
