NDU-K AND KENYA BIOVAX INSTITUTE IN COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS

A National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K) delegation, led by Deputy Vice -Chancellor (DVC) Research, Innovation and Security Studies, Major General William Shume and DVC Academic and Students Affairs Prof. Anne Muigai recently paid a visit to Kenya BioVax Institute at their headquarters in Nairobi.

This was a reciprocal visit following an earlier visit to NDU-K by BioVax Institute. The two institutions are involved in crafting of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at enabling partnership and collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
During the visit, the delegation met with the management of BioVax Institute, led by the C.E.O, Dr. Michael Lusiola.

The MOU will be aiming at collaboration in research & development in biosafety, bio-security, technology transfer and commercialisation of outputs related to specialised health products and technologies including vaccines. Further, the MOU seeks partnership in health emergency preparedness and response, personnel development and development of bio manufacturing facilities.
