NDU-K CONDUCTS INDUCTION TRAINING FOR NEWLY EMPLOYED AND POSTED STAFF
The National Defence University- Kenya (NDU-K) Vice-Chancellor (VC), Lieutenant General David Tarus, has underscored the importance of teamwork and synergy among staff as a critical enabler in the attainment of the University’s mandate of training and capacity building in the specialized fields of national security and strategy.
Speaking at the University Seat in Lanet, Nakuru, during the official opening of a week-long induction programme for newly employed and posted staff. Lt Gen Tarus urged the new members of staff to discharge their duties with diligence and commitment, noting that their collective contributions have a direct bearing on the University’s credibility, effectiveness and institutional reputation.
The Vice-Chancellor called on the new staff to uphold the values of excellence, integrity and adaptability as they assume their respective responsibilities within the University.
He reiterated the commitment of the University Management to providing a supportive, inclusive and professional working environment that fosters continuous learning, innovation and high performance.
Further, the Vice-Chancellor encouraged the new human resource to familiarize themselves with NDU-K statutes, policies, procedures and relevant regulations governing their areas of responsibility, emphasizing that a clear understanding of these guiding frameworks would facilitate smooth integration into the institutional ecosystem and enhance their contribution towards the realization of the University’s core mandate.
The induction programme reflects NDU-K’s commitment to developing a competent, motivated and professional workforce capable of supporting its expanding role as a centre of excellence in defence and security education. As part of the induction process, the newly inducted staff will undertake familiarization visits to the various Colleges of the University.
In attendance were Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Directors, Heads of Departments, faculty members and staff of the University.
