NDU-K HOLDS 15TH UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT BOARD

National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Lieutenant General Jimson Mutai,has today officiated over the 15th University Management Board (UMB) at the University Seat in Lanet, Nakuru County. By authority of the University Statutes, the VC is Chairperson the University Management Board.

During the meeting, the VC, urged members to adopt innovation and emerging technology to enable the University and its Colleges to offer practical solutions to mitigate the various security challenges and influence national security policy and strategy.

He said that NDU-K is committed to adapting to the evolving technology through advancing practical research and fostering a culture of excellence so as to bolster national security and development.

“I wish to appreciate the importance of embracing Information and Communications Technology (ICT) as an enabler for efficient and cost-effective service delivery. The University has completed Phase One of ICT infrastructure and has now embarked on Phase Two ,” he said.

The VC underscored the importance of the current collaboration between NDU-K, local and International Government Agencies as well as other institutions of higher learning, stating that such partnerships enhance mutual learning, research, and innovation.

Lt. Gen. Mutai reiterated the University's commitment to delivering advanced training and research, promoting academic discourse, and facilitating the exchange of expertise to address evolving security challenges while supporting national development.

Among those who attended included Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Commandants, Principals and Heads of Programmes from the seven (7) NDU-K Colleges, the Registrar Academic Affairs as well as Directors and Heads of various Departments at the Seat.
