NDU-K holds a collaboration meeting with KESRA

A collaboration technical working team from the National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K) recently held a meeting with a team from the Kenya School of Revenue Administration (KESRA), at the University Seat in Lanet, Nakuru.  The teams were formed following a recommendation by the two institutions in a meeting held earlier to develop a collaboration roadmap on academic programmes. This followed KESRA’S request that some of their programmes be administered by NDU-K because of similarity of the two institutions in mandate - that is, enhancement of national security. Today’s meeting was, the first for the joint technical committee.

The teams had occasion to pay an office call on Vice-Chancellor, Maj Gen S M Farah before embarking on discussions.

In the discussions, NDU-K and KESRA teams were led by NDU-K Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs, Professor Ann Muigai and KESRA Deputy Commissioner, Academic Affairs, Ms Doreen Mbingi. In the meeting, the joint team firmed up a collaboration roadmap in which a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Curricula will be developed by select sub-committees. The two leaders emphasized the need to focus on the unique mandates of the two institutions. In particular, they exhorted the sub-committees to ensure that the collaboration enables the two institutions to curve a niche in terms of focus and quality.
