NDU-K HOLDS IT’S 15th REGULAR SENATE AND 11th SENATE BOARD OF EXAMINERS MEETING

National Defence University–Kenya (NDU-K) convened its 15th Regular Senate Meeting and 11th Senate Board of Examiners Meeting at its Seat in Lanet, Nakuru County. The sessions were chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Lieutenant General David Tarus.

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor commended the University’s unwavering commitment to its mandate through innovative academic programmes and research initiatives. He urged members to remain focused, foster teamwork, and continue delivering world-class education and training to empower defence and security professionals.

Lieutenant General Tarus emphasised the importance of collaboration between NDU-K, its Colleges, local and international government agencies, and other institutions of higher learning. He noted that such partnerships enhance mutual learning, research capacity, expertise sharing, and resource mobilisation, informed by diverse perspectives and specialised knowledge.

The Vice-Chancellor also congratulated and welcomed new Senate members, Major General Joel Muriungi M’arimi, Commandant Kenya Military Academy (KMA), and Major General Charles Mwazighe, Director, International Peace Support and Training Centre (IPSTC) on their promotion and appointment, encouraging them to contribute objectively to Senate deliberations for the benefit of the University.

The meetings were attended by Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Commandants, Principals, Registrar Academic Affairs, Directors, Heads of Programmes from NDU-K’s seven Colleges, and Heads of Departments based at the Seat.
