National Defence University–Kenya (NDU- K) and Anti- Counterfeit Authority (ACA) Course on Ethics and Leadership for National Security reached its culmination today, in a graduation ceremony presided over by the National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Major General Said Farah.

The Five-day training designed to enhance leadership and governance, deepen understanding on the roles of ACA in national security as well appreciate aspects of intellectual property enforcement and related forms of illicit trade for national security, brought together 20 participants from various section of ACA.

While addressing the course participants, the VC, congratulated them for successfully completing the course, urging them to utilize and apply the skills that they had acquired in confronting the pervasive threat of counterfeit goods and economic crimes that undermine the fabric of a progressive society.

He emphasized that there's need to instil a new skill set in management of economic crimes so as to be in tandem with the evolving and rapidly growing diversity and complexity of transnational crimes.

In his remarks, the Chairperson of ACA Board, Hon. Josephat Kabeabea, expressed his appreciation for the comprehensive programme, while calling for more such collaborations and training between the two institutions.

The Executive Director, ACA, Dr. Robi Mbugua Njoroge, lauded the participants for their dedication and successful completion the course, noting that the synergy witnessed among the participants was outstanding. 

The university is mandated to create national awareness on national security and strategy for government institutions, ministries, departments, agencies and county governments.
