Delegation from NIRU Visits NDU-K for Benchmarking and Collaboration

A delegation from the National Intelligence Research University (NIRU) recently visited the National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K) for a benchmarking exercise and discussions on potential collaboration.

The team, led by NIRU Vice-Chancellor Dr. James K. Kibon, was warmly received by NDU-K’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC) Finance & Administration, Major General Thomas Ng’ang’a, on behalf of Vice-Chancellor Lieutenant General Jimson Mutai.

During the engagement, Maj Gen Ng’ang’a highlighted the strong ties between NDU-K and NIRU, emphasizing that the visit provided a valuable platform to exchange ideas, share experiences, and explore key areas of cooperation.

“Benchmarking with our institution is a testament to the confidence and appreciation of our role in training, capacity building, research, and innovation in national security and strategy,” he remarked.

He further reiterated NDU-K’s commitment to fostering collaboration with NIRU and other key stakeholders to uphold high academic standards for national, regional, and global impact.

Dr. Kibon expressed gratitude for the mentorship provided by the Kenya Defence Forces and NDU-K, acknowledging its role in strengthening NIRU’s capacity to fulfill its mandate. He reaffirmed his confidence that the partnership will drive sustainable growth and mutual development between the two institutions.

The visit served as an insightful opportunity for both institutions to learn from each other’s experiences and best practices, strengthening their shared mission in security education and research.
