BETTER ENVIRONMENT BETTER FUTURE
In a concerted effort to contribute to Kenya's ambitious tree planting target, National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K) personnel today conducted a tree planting exercise at the University grounds in Lanet, Nakuru.
During the exercise, the University personnel led by Deputy Vice-Chancellors’ (DVC) Finance & Administration Major General Thomas Ng’ang’a and his Research, Innovation, and Security Studies counterpart Major General William Shume, planted over 2,000 assorted tree seedling species across the expansive campus grounds.
This initiative aligns with the government’s broader objective to plant 15 billion trees by 2032, supporting efforts to combat deforestation and mitigate climate change as championed by H.E. Hon. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces and Chancellor, National Defence University-Kenya.
