NATIONAL DEFENCE UNIVERSITY-KENYA HOSTS NATIONAL DEFENCE UNIVERSITY-GHANA
The National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K) hosted a delegation from the National Defence University-Ghana as part of efforts to benchmark best practices and strengthen institutional collaboration in defence and security studies.
The visit aimed to advance academic excellence, research cooperation, and capacity building between the two premier military institutions.
Speaking during the engagement, the Vice-Chancellor NDU-K, Lieutenant General David Tarus, underscored the importance of strategic partnerships in fulfilling the university’s mission of developing transformational leaders capable of addressing emerging national, regional, and global multidimensional security challenges, including technological transformation.
He noted that collaboration with government agencies, defence institutions, regional organizations, and international universities enhances knowledge exchange, promotes joint research initiatives, and supports professional development.
The Vice-Chancellor further reiterated NDU-K’s commitment to expanding networks that contribute to peace, security, and sustainable development through sustained cooperation.
The visiting delegation was led by Air Vice Marshal Dr. Felix Adom Asante, President of the National Defence University -Ghana, who expressed appreciation for the warm reception and productive engagements.
He noted that the visit will significantly strengthen academic collaboration and deepened strategic cooperation between the two institutions.
He also commended NDU-K for its growing reputation as a centre of excellence in defence and security studies within the region.
Through such collaborative efforts, NDU-K continues to position itself as a leading institution in strategic studies and higher education, reinforcing its role in shaping resilient and forward-looking security leadership.
The engagement marks another milestone in fostering continental collaboration in professional military education and strategic studies, while reinforcing shared values of peace, stability, and strategic leadership across Africa.
