Profile Summary

Dr. Stephen Nzioki Mailu is currently the University Registrar. He has a huge managerial experience with over 10 years of university teaching and management. Before joining NDU-K, Dr. Mailu was the Deputy Registrar (Academic and Student Affairs), Machakos University. Prior to his appointment as the Deputy Registrar, he served as the Dean, School of Pure and Applied Sciences and the Chairman, Department of Physical sciences, Machakos University. He taught as a lecturer at the University of the Western Cape-South Africa, Maseno University and is a senior lecturer of electroanalytical Chemistry, Machakos University.

Dr. Mailu holds a doctorate degree in Chemistry (Electroanalytical Chemistry) from University of the Western Cape, an MSc. in Chemistry (Electroanalytical Chemistry) (Cum Laude) from University of the Western Cape, South Africa and B.Ed. (Science), Mathematics and Chemistry (Chemistry Major) (First Class Honours) from Kenyatta University.

He has published over 20 publications in refereed journals, 1 book chapter, attended over 20 international conferences & workshops and has also attended several short courses on Corporate Governance & Strategic Management. In terms of student supervision, he has examined one (1) PhD thesis; supervised to completion one (1) PhD student & four (4) masters students; and currently supervising four (4) masters students. He is a member of Kenya Chemical Society.

Dr. Mailu is the Chairman of Board of Management, St. Joseph Matiku Secondary and a member of the Board of Management, Kyemundu Secondary. He is also a Board Director, Makueni County Sand Conservation and Utilization Authority.
