A Shared Vision for Advancing Peace, Gender, and Human Security Through Knowledge Exchange

National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K) hosted Fauziya Ali, Founder and President of Women in International Security (WIIS) Horn of Africa, during her courtesy call to the University. She was received by Major General Joyce Setenei, Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of the Center for Security and Strategic Studies, on behalf of the Vice Chancellor.

The visit marked a significant milestone in advancing strategic collaboration between the two institutions. Deliberations centered on fostering joint research initiatives, convening high-level conferences and symposiums and expanding collaborative networks to include other African institutions committed to peacebuilding, gender equity and human security.

In their engagement, both leaders—distinguished authorities in governance, gender, and human security—emphasized the importance of coordinated and inclusive approaches to addressing evolving security challenges across the region, underscoring knowledge exchange, strengthened institutional partnerships and gender-responsive frameworks as key pillars for sustainable peace in Africa.

This engagement reflects a shared vision to catalyze impactful, forward-looking solutions and to reinforce a collective commitment toward advancing peace, security, and resilience across the continent.
