USA AIR WAR COLLEGE VISIT NATIONAL DEFENCE COLLEGE KENYA TO STRENGTHEN STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP
National Defence College a College of National Defence University-Kenya hosted faculty and participants from the United States Air War College based at Maxwell Air Force Base for an academic engagement aimed at strengthening professional military education and strategic collaboration.
During the visit, the delegation received a comprehensive brief on the mandate, structure and academic programmes of the National Defence College Kenya. The brief highlighted the College’s role in developing strategic leaders equipped to address complex security challenges at the national, regional and global levels.
The participants led by Colonel Ryan Hill PhD, Associate Dean of Academics, held in depth engagements with faculty members of the College, focusing on contemporary local, regional and international security dynamics. Discussions explored evolving geopolitical trends, emerging security threats, the importance of multilateral cooperation and the role of professional military education in shaping strategic thought and policy formulation.
The interaction provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and comparative insights between the two institutions. Both sides underscored the importance of sustained academic collaboration, joint research and continued dialogue as pillars for strengthening defence diplomacy and enhancing mutual understanding.
The visit underscored the growing cooperation between Kenya and the United States in defence education and strategic studies, reinforcing shared commitments to regional and international security.
