NDU-K Holds 14th Regular University Management Board

The National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K) convened its 14th Regular University Management Board (UMB) today at its main campus in Lanet, Nakuru County. The session was chaired by Vice-Chancellor, Lieutenant General Jimson Mutai.

In his opening remarks, Lt. Gen. Mutai called on the University Management Board (UMB) to consistently uphold fiscal discipline and prudence in alignment with Public Finance and Management Act. He emphasized that these principles are key to achieving the University's objectives.

He encouraged the UMB to remain focused, work collaboratively, and ensure that the University upholds its Charter while embedding best practices in all operations.

Lt. Gen. Mutai highlighted the value of ongoing collaborations between NDU-K and both local and international government agencies, as well as other academic institutions. These partnerships foster mutual learning, research, and innovation.

The UMB meeting reaffirmed NDU-K’s commitment to high standards in defence education and community involvement, further solidifying its role in shaping Kenya's defence and security landscape.

Among those who attended included Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Commandants, Principals and Heads of Programmes from the seven (7) NDU-K Colleges, the Registrar Academic Affairs as well as Directors and Heads of various Departments at the Seat.
