Research Grant Writing Training Workshop
As part of its initiatives to develop and support research, National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K) held a three-day Grant Writing workshop from 16-18 May 2023 at the International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC), Karen. IPSTC is a College of NDU-K. The participants covered key areas in grant writing including funding sources; grant budgeting, administration and accounting procedures; grant projects work planning and progress reporting; monitoring and evaluation of grant projects as well as setting up collaborations in grant writing. It is expected that the skills gained in the workshop will enhance the University’s capacity to access funding from partners to enable the rollout of research and innovation projects that address traditional and contemporary security challenges. The workshop was officially opened by Maj Gen Rashid Elmi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Applied Research and Security Studies, and was attended by, among others, Prof Anne W T Muigai - Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Affairs and Research, Prof Lucy Maina - a Visiting Professor, Dr. S N Mailu – the Registrar Academics and twenty participants drawn from various NDU-K Colleges and administrative offices.
