NDU-K 21st MANAGEMENT BOARD DRIVES INSTITUTIONAL PERFORMANCE AND STRATEGIC PRIORITIES

Institutional performance, strategic priorities and effective delivery of the National Defence University–Kenya (NDU-K) mandate took centre stage during the 21st University Management Board (UMB) Meeting, as the University continued to strengthen its focus on academic excellence, research and innovation, effective governance and strategic leadership.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review progress across key areas of the University’s operations and assess priorities critical to strengthening institutional effectiveness and service delivery. The Board considered measures to enhance academic and administrative processes, improve operational efficiency, advance research and innovation, and support the implementation of the University’s strategic objectives.

Chairing the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor, Lieutenant General David Tarus, commended University Management and staff for their commitment, professionalism and dedication to advancing the University’s mandate. He noted that the collective efforts of staff across the University’s Colleges, Divisions and Directorates remain central to sustaining institutional growth and delivering on NDU-K’s strategic priorities.

Lieutenant General Tarus emphasised the importance of coordination, teamwork, accountability and prudent management of resources in translating the University’s priorities into measurable results. He urged members of the Board to maintain a strong focus on quality, efficiency and continuous improvement in the delivery of University services.

The Board also considered updates on academic and administrative programmes, institutional projects, research and innovation, strategic partnerships and other matters supporting the University’s continued development, including preparations for the upcoming fourth graduation ceremony.

The meeting reaffirmed the University Management Board’s commitment to strengthening institutional performance and positioning NDU-K as a centre of excellence in defence, security and strategic studies. As the University continues to expand its academic and strategic footprint, it remains focused on developing strategic leaders and advancing knowledge, research and innovation in support of national security and development.
