UNIVERSITY HOLDS 10TH REGULAR SENATE MEETING

The National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K) Vice-Chancellor (VC), Lieutenant General Jimson Mutai today presided over the 10th Regular Senate Meeting, held at the University Seat in Lanet, Nakuru.

Subject to NDU-K Charter, the Senate is responsible for the University’s academic matters and undertakes the functions assigned to it in the Charter and Statutes. All academic matters in the University whether in general or in any particular case are discussed at Senate meetings. It also makes recommendations to NDU-K Council concerning academic policies and practices at the University and is responsible for the University academic calendar and arranging University academic events.

During the meeting, the VC appreciated the University’s continued execution of its mandate through innovative academic programmes and research. He urged the Senate to remain focused and embrace team work to ensure the University delivers in accordance with its Charter and strive to embed best practices in its processes, noting that as the surest way to achieve the institution's set objectives.
“As the new Vice-Chancellor of NDU-K, I look forward to your support, as you did to my predecessors and together, we shall take this University to even greater heights," said the VC.

NDU-K Senate consists of the Vice-Chancellor (Chairperson), Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Commandants, Principals and Heads of Programmes from the seven (7) NDU-K Colleges, the Registrar Academic Affairs as well as Directors and Heads of various Departments at the Seat.
