The National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K) Vice-Chancellor (VC), Lieutenant General Jimson Mutai has reaffirmed the University's commitment to offering cutting-edge training and research,promoting academic dialogue, and facilitating the exchange of expertise to address evolving security challenges while supporting national development.

The VC underscored the importance of re-aligning the Institution’s academic training programmes in readiness to accommodate students who will be produced through the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) in the coming years.

The VC made the remarks as he presided over the 13th Regular Senate Meeting (RSM), and 9th Senate Board of Examiners (SBE) held at the University Seat in Lanet, Nakuru County. By authority of the University Statutes, the VC is Chairperson of both RSM and SBE.

He appreciated the University’s continued execution of its mandate through innovative academic programmes and research. He urged the Senate to remain focused and embrace team work to ensure the University delivers in accordance with its Charter and strive to embed best practices in its processes.

“I wish to recognise your dedication towards the delivery of the NDU-K academic programmes. It is through this commitment and dedication that the University shall continue to define its niche and ensure the continued delivery of high-quality academic programmes,” said the Vice-Chancellor 

The meeting was attended by, among others, Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Commandants, Principals and Heads of Programmes from the seven (7) NDU-K Colleges, the Registrar Academic Affairs as well as Directors and Heads of various Departments at the Seat.
